Bio

Denzzell (Denzel Xavier Fernandez) is a Miami-based Urban Latin Artist within the Reggaeton and Trap genres. Originally from Cuba, fusing his music, dance and performance experience, he is a 360° artist.

Denzzell was born October 1999 in Havana, Cuba and grew up in the neighborhood known as Luyanó. Since he was a child, he was strongly influenced by music through his grandfather, Germán Lázaro Rodríguez, who was founder, director and trumpeter of the New Sonora Matancera band in Cuba and musical director of the Festival Nacional de Boleros in Colombia. After his grandfather’s untimely death in 2011, he made a promise to himself to follow his grandfather’s musical footsteps.

Dance/Theater:

At the age of 9, Denzzell was enrolled in the National Ballet School of Cuba, considered one of the most prestigious ballet schools in the world, graduating with the title of Dance-Professor. After graduation, he was handpicked to join the famous dance company, Centro Pro Danza of Cuba Laura Alonso Ballet, and performed in the National Ballet of Cuba as FirstSoloist. His ballet repertoire includes: Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Don Quijote, Le Corsaire, La Bayadère, Yarini, among many other classics. As part of the Laura Alonso Ballet company, Denzzell traveled internationally in 2019 to Turkey for six months where he provided ballet instruction to students and danced as Principal in ballets.

Film:

In 2016, Denzzell was selected as an actor and dancer in the opening Havana scene of the eighth installment of The Fast & The Furious franchise, The Fate Of The Furious.

Music:

In 2017, he joined the four-member singing group called Legion in Cuba, which initiated Denzzell’s career as a recording artist. After a couple of years, Denzzell launched as a solo artist, writing and producing Reggaeton and Trap songs independently. He has collaborated with Raydel RPMusic, Kimiko y Yordy, Damian the Lion(Desiguales), El Chacal, Dj Unic, Livan Pro, Yulien Oviedo, El Chulo, Alex Duvall, Michel Boutic, Ale El Bandoreo, Haned, Denver, among other artists and producers.
